Cookie Policy
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies KindStep uses, what each one does, and how long it lasts. No analytics or advertising cookies load until you choose “Accept” in our cookie banner — until then, only the essential cookie that remembers your choice is set.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Some are essential for the site to work; others help us understand how the site is used or measure whether our adverts bring genuine enquiries. You are in control of the non-essential ones.
2. Your choice comes first
When you first visit, we show a banner with two equal options — Accept or Reject. Nothing in the “Analytics” or “Advertising” categories below runs unless you Accept. If you Reject (or ignore the banner), we set only the essential cookie that records your choice, and we send no data to Google or Meta — including the server-side advert-measurement event. You can change your mind at any time (see section 4).
3. The cookies we use
Essential — always on
These are required for the site to function and to remember your privacy choice. They do not track you.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
kindstep_consent | KindStep | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies | 12 months |
Analytics — only after you Accept
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years | |
_ga_<id> | Maintains analytics session state | 2 years |
Advertising — only after you Accept
The Meta (Facebook) Pixel lets us measure which adverts produce genuine enquiries. Some advert measurement also happens server-to-server via the Meta Conversions API, using hashed details — this too only happens for visitors who have accepted.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta | Identifies your browser to measure advert performance | 90 days |
_fbc | Meta | Stores the advert click identifier
(fbclid) so a genuine enquiry can be attributed to the advert you clicked |
90 days |
4. Changing your choice
You can reopen the cookie banner and change your decision at any time: Change cookie settings. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings, or use your browser's “Do Not Track” / privacy controls. If you reject non-essential cookies, the site still works fully — you simply won't be counted in our analytics or advert measurement.
5. More about your data
